You might be surprised to learn that some kittens do enjoy being bathed, but not too often.

Washing your kitten can also help control matting and tangling in long-haired cats. In fact with some breeds, washing with medicated shampoos is sometimes needed to treat certain skin conditions. Check with your vet if you are unsure whether to bath your kitten and what product is best suited to its needs.

KITTENS’ CLAWS

Although kittens protect their claws from damage by withdrawing them, it is a good idea to check them from time to time to make sure they are in good order and are not becoming overgrown.

Overgrown claws can be a particular problem for indoor kittens, as they will have limited opportunity to keep their nails trim by scratching on trees or fences. Providing a scratching post can help, but if the nails continue to be a problem you will need to clip them, ask your vet to show you how.
