As a general rule it is a good idea to have your cat come indoors for the night by feeding dinner at a regular time and then shutting it in. This will also reduce the risk of your cat getting into fights, car accidents and other dangers.

Most cats enjoy being inside and many cat owners prefer to keep their pets inside all the time for that extra safety and peace of mind. Indoor cats make happy, well-adjusted and fun loving companions as long as you provide plenty of mental stimulation for them.

Indoor cats are also less likely to be exposed to diseases and parasites such as fleas, ticks and worms.

If you do decide to keep your cat indoors, it is important to ensure you supply a range of toys for them to play with. Making a place for them to sit by a sunny window will also keep your kitten happy, as most cats love to bask in the morning sun and watch the outside world go by.
